Preparing for End of Term: Common Errors identified via Grade Verification Report

After running the Grade Verification Report, here are some tips to help you & your faculty identify and correct data errors well in advance of printing report cards.

Issue: No grades displayed for the teacher's current class, current term on the Grade Verification Report.

Potential Cause: Teacher is currently teaching the class, has not yet entered any Gradebook data for the class.

Solution: Encourage teachers to enter their grade data for the appropriate term Q1, Q2, M1, Q3, Q4, F1 in PowerTeacher Gradebook.
Note that any current class that does not have any grade data entered will be omitted from displaying/printing on the report card and transcript.

Issue: Incorrect grades, or grades appear in Q2 but should only appear in Q1, and/or grades not displayed for the teacher's current class for current term.

Potential Cause: An assignment with a date out of range for the marking period. As an example, if a teacher teaches a course for a semester (marking period one and marking period two), and they enter an assignment & scores in term Q2 (marking period two), then the scores will not be reported in term Q1.
Same could apply to the mid term, which "lives" in the date range of M1, and the final exam, which "lives" in the date range of F1.

Solution: Adjust the due date for the assignment(s) to fall within the date range of the Marking Period, such a Q1. Assignments must "live" in the proper term (such as F1) if you want to report the grade for the term of F1.
Assistance is available via PowerTeacher Gradebook Help in the topic "Add Assignments" (Launch PowerTeacher Gradebook and click on the "?" icon or click the Help menu--->Contents--->Assignments)

Issue: Grades for Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 or Y1 appear higher or lower than expected on the Grade Verification Report.

Potential Cause: Incorrect setup of a final grade for term Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 or Y1. The teacher may be using "Total Points" to calculate term Y1.

Solution: Recommended to use "term weights" for term Y1 calculation and "category weights" to calculate final grades for terms Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4.
