Recommendations for uploading eClass grades

 

  1. Generally we use a point based system in eClass to calculate grades, therefore, we recommend that you do not assign weights to categories and that in the Grading Periods setup, you select the "Ignore Category Weights" option. If you do use a weighted system, please refer to a copy of the TechNote sent to principals and counselors on Oct. 30th: "eClass TechNote: Categories & Calculations".

 

  1. For incomplete grades select "Inc" NOT "Incomplete" from the Sp. Scores menu.

 

  1. Comments are entered in the Student's window and remain until changed. They will be associated with the grading period specified in the "Export Term Marks" window, even if no change has taken place.

 

  1. Export Term Marks: We suggest checking all boxes EXCEPT Final Average in the "Export percentage & letter grades for:" window. Select the grading period that your comments belong with. Make sure the Destination folder is YOUR folder on the Server.
